The Red Piano Art Gallery, the premier art destination for the Hilton Head Island area for over five decades, is thrilled to showcase the remarkable works of artist Mark Boedges who has quickly risen to prominence in the art world. Since its establishment in July 1969 following the first Heritage Golf Classic, the gallery has proudly represented some of America’s leading painters and sculptors. Located at 40 Calhoun St., Suite 201, in Bluffton, SC, just minutes from the bridge to Hilton Head Island, we are committed to bringing exceptional art to our world-class resort community.
Mark Boedges has amassed numerous awards in a relatively short period. His journey into the art world is as inspiring as his creations. Although art was always part of his life, it wasn’t until college that Mark began to paint seriously. He initially attended the University of Kansas, earning a degree in philosophy, but the pull of painting, especially plein air painting, was irresistible. His passion led him to study Fine Art at the University of Colorado, though he ultimately chose to leave the program after two years to immerse himself fully in studying directly from nature. This hands-on approach allowed his skills to develop rapidly, culminating in his first show in 2003, which was a tremendous success, nearly selling out.
Mark’s dedication to his craft has earned him significant accolades, including the Grand Prize for Landscape and a feature on the cover of International Artist magazine. More recently, he received the Joseph Hartley Memorial Award at the prestigious Salmagundi Club in New York City, Best in Show at the American Impressionist Society’s National Exhibition, and Best in Show at the Scottsdale Salon of Fine Art. Despite his achievements, Mark continues to seek guidance from fellow artists and attends workshops to refine his technique and push the boundaries of his artistry.
At The Red Piano Art Gallery, we are honored to represent Mark Boedges and showcase his extraordinary plein air paintings. His ability to capture the subtle nuances of light and nature resonates deeply with both seasoned art collectors and new admirers. We invite you to visit our gallery and experience the captivating beauty of Mark Boedges’ paintings, along with the diverse array of art created by the talented artists we have supported for over 30 years.
